Movement Therapy is a broad label that covers a wide variety of therapeutic practices.
For this reason each session may look different and will be tailored to individual needs and preferences.
Generally speaking a movement therapy session has the goal of creating more ease in the body-mind system and increasing body awareness.
For some people this may involve body-work to help release fascial restrictions and facilitate greater blood flow to a region. For others it may involve talk-therapy, movement as expression or body-awareness practices to help enliven a specific area.
This is the beauty of movement therapy - it is diverse enough to encompass a wide variety of needs.
Movement Therapy is a therapeutic modality which recognizes that body and mind are linked, and therefore addresses both for the purpose of facilitating individuals towards a life that is more deeply felt, more deeply experienced and ultimately, more deeply lived.
